Busola Ajala is a business lawyer and the Director of Studies at Strictly Law Business, a premium Academy of business development and capacity building for lawyers in Nigeria.

Her legal work has spanned compliance and legal advisory when she worked as in-house counsel in 9Mobile and as a corporate attorney in Rouq & Company before she finally transited to business development training and legal talent development for top-tier law firms in Nigeria.

Ajala is a highly experienced business development coach for lawyers and law firms, and she has coached lawyers from top tier law firms on strategies and skills needed to develop solid books of business. Under the academic arm of her Strictly Law Business Academy, students enrol for the Academy’s Basic Law Business Management (BLBM) course, a seven module course with 2 add-on lectures from the Academuy’s guest faculty. The modules are: Sales Mastery for Legal Practice, Storytelling for Legal Marketing, Business Development, Pricing Strategy, Financial Accounting, Branding for Lawyers.

Ajala was educated at the Lagos State University, Nigeria, where she obtained her LL.B and then the Nigerian Law School where she obtained her law practice licence. She is licensed to practice law in Nigeria as a Solicitor & Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She also received training on leadership and entrepreneurship from Daystar Leadership Academy and Headstone Entrepreneurship College respectively.

Ajala hosted The Business of Law Conference in Lagos, an international conference that had about 300 lawyers and students from all over Nigeria in attendance, the very first of its kind in Nigeria’s law practice industry. The conference successfully served as a conversation starter on the subject of The Business of Law and also went beyond that. In January 2020, Ajala hosted the second ever such conference: The Business of Law Conference 2.0, which drew attendees from within Nigeria and other commonwealth countries to the conference venue, Muson Center, Lagos. Ajala’s role as convener of the conferences involved gathering highly qualified keynote speakers to deal with core topics plaguing the legal profession including improvement in the area of Pricing Strategy and Financial intelligence for lawyers.
